Marketing and Advertising – Similar to Differences
Small business owners tend to confuse marketing and advertising like the same. Advertising is a very important part of marketing, but not the same. Marketing is the process of creating customer interest in products and services. Marketing creates a policy based on sales methods, business communication and business development. Marketing is the whole package and ads are shared.
Advertising is an important part of marketing and probably the most expensive. Advertising is about sending a message about companies, products and services. The advertisement also includes compiling various methods to target audiences and interested in becoming customers. The ad involves placing ads, determining which media to use, the frequency and time of the ads will appear. Different types of media are used to distribute the ads. Television, direct mail, newspaper, internet, email, radio, magazines, text messages, flyers, billboards, etc. are among the different media used to distribute ads. Different media for different companies, not all media are for everyone.
Advertising is simply part of the marketing mix. Other items include product reviews, product design, media plans, public relations, product pricing, customer satisfaction, customer service, and the list continues. All of these factors work independently, but they all work to achieve the company's goals and objectives, sell products or services, and build a marketing word. Advertising alone will not produce results and copy what others are doing will certainly fail. What works for some does not necessarily mean that it will work for others.
The ad will not work if the appropriate studies are not followed. Research is an understanding of customer needs and expectations. The design of the product comes next and can be time consuming. Followed by advertising and sales. Marketing puts everything together as it creates strategies for success.
An advertisement can become very expensive and worthwhile if it is not done properly and if not important steps are taken. Labeling is important, but logos do not guarantee sales, labels represent value and reputation of an organization and it takes time to build and acknowledge. Small business owners must first invest time and money in knowing their customers, inventing their expectations and educating them. After presenting their customers and building a database, you should engage in advertising and promote their products and services. A complete marketing campaign will in this way succeed and create sales.
