Many are shy from advertising for financial reasons. But there are many ways to advertise without spending a dime.
Why advertise?
If you own your own business and you want it to grow (and like a business owner, hopefully you do it!) There is no way in advertising. Let's look at it. People are not going to knock your door and ask if you have a product or service to sell. It is essential that you generally disseminate the word about your business and what you have to offer. And the gospel is that you do not have to break the bank to do it!
When should I advertise?
It's easy – all the time! Because your business is a big part of your life, and you probably need a few hours a day at work, it should be something you talk about often. And whether you understand it or not, simply talking about your business is advertising.
Do not be afraid to mention your business to friends, parents children, teachers, mom in the children's playgroup or strangers in the grocery store. Because you never know where or when you find an enthusiastic and potentially unusual customer, it's a good idea to keep your eyes and ears open forever and always look for opportunities to advertise what you do. This does not mean you have to be violent about it. Take care of yourself without covering it to your neck.
Where should I connect?
Do not know where to start? Here are some suggestions:
o Links. Start by adding a signature of links to your website or blog to all emails you send. Most e-mail programs have the "options" link, where you can add custom signatures that are automatically added to your email. Also add signature links to the message boards or groups to which you belong. You should be surprised at how many people click on these links at the bottom of their email simply by curiosity.
o forum. If you "work at home" or something similar, you'll get hundreds (even thousands) literally links to the Wahm or business area where others like you are either looking for business opportunities or advertising companies that they already have. Either way you meet many who can very likely be interested in what you have to offer. In addition, you will notice other places to advertise and can also get valuable tips on expanding your business. Just remember that you have to spend regular time on this forum to continue to get your name out there.
o groups. By joining Yahoo or other groups, you can send (and receive) messages that specifically target the areas you want. Join groups that contain people who are more likely to be interested in products you sell. If you offer toys or tutorials, for example, joining a mommy group would be wise. If you sell kitchen products, join a recipe group.
o Anywhere. Business cards are required. Match one by all you meet, even if you're hired to connect on your own, like another mom at school to set up a game day. It's an easy way to give out your phone number, but at the same time let the card speak when you're not happy to do it yourself. Also consider bumper stickers, window clings, tote bags or buttons to pin on your handbag. While the minimum cost is for business cards and other items, they serve on a regular basis to start a conversation and draw customers to you.
Be on the way to all sorts of ways to advertise your business. Especially in the electronic world today, there are opportunities to spread the word about what you do, endless.
